I admit, I wasn't able to make it downtown for the Beach Bash.
But after looking at pictures posted by the Downtown Baseball Blog, it looks like no one else made it either.
Can anyone provide a first hand account of the Bash? Please tell me more than 50 people showed up.

Hundreds showed up, and I'd say most enjoyed it. My kids and I certainly did. No, it wasn't earth shattering entertainment, but every little bit (downtown) helps... change.
Scott, when were you there?
My wife and I showed up just after nine and the crowd was very sparse. I was disapointed in the crowd size for sure.
Cheers
Yesterday wasn't exactly "beach" weather. They should have had this event sometime in July.
I was there later in the night, around 10pm, so I doubt the pictures are representative of the turnout
Looks like a GREAT TIME!!!
note the sarcasm
I stopped by briefly. Funny I did not see one YLNI board member there. It was boring anyway.
At least 1500 people went through... It caught a bad break with the weather. There can be bad nights in July as well, and TRF events and other events go on in July. Everyone I was with enjoyed it...
What does the YLNI board have to do with this event?
I thought it was organized by DID.
Unlike CFW, YLNI does not put its money where its mouth is!!!!
I stopped by, but later in the evening. There was another event going on at Headwaters. The weather was definitely not beach weather as others have pointed out. The newspaper pictures made it seem as though there were more people there in the day time.
Official Totals
1550 paid and another 250 or so that were free, comped, or sponsors. Our goal was 2,500 paid.
Daytime traffic was good with a nice variety of older folk and families with young children.
The sand volleyball tournament, sand sculptures, and sand box all very well received.
The evening traffic was disappointing. The weather was a factor so to was trying a new venue, and lastly it is getting towards the end of the summer with school just starting for parents with k-12 kids.
This time slot has worked in some instances as the last night in town for outbound university students but needs proximity to more traditional gathering spots.
(i.e.Columbia Street venues were packed)
All your input is greatly appreciated as we seek to fine tune our event lineup for 2008
