My Ode to Strip Malls

Do I really need to explain why I love strip malls (now called SMs)?

What a great concept, where else can I drive a couple of minutes away from my house and shop at five stores conveniently place next to each other - thank god I dont have to walk anywhere. Only so I can leave the SM five minutes later, getting back into my car without interacting with anyone, just to head home or drive over to the next SM because what I needed wasnt in the five stores on that strip.

I love the intricate architecture of the SMs, they all are all so different and unique. Varying in size and looks, it makes me wonder who I can congratulate on designing such a masterpiece and architectural wonder. I'm sure thats what they had in mind when they went to architectural design school, I can vision it now - "I want to design Strip Malls when I grow up"

Also, how aesthetically pleasing an empty SM is. I just dream of possibilities of what stores can go into the SM. I mean, can we please get a couple of more cell phone outlets, a couple of more dry cleaners, or please one more chain eatery. Originality? Who needs that - give me big box and chain food and I'll be happy for life.

We need to press forward and build as many SMs as possible, once one is completed and empty, we need to clear cut more land and build more SMs.

What's up with the requirement for landscaping in strip mall parking lots?

I wish I could run over all those bushes and trees with my Truck

You dont have a big enough Truck. See how I capitalized truck. It is my baby and is huge. Close to being a monster truck. Gets great gas mileage.
