My thoughts on class basketball

Like many other native Hoosiers, I love basketball. Now that the season has ended for the IHSAA and March Madness is coming to a close, I'd like to share my thoughts on Indiana class basketball.

Class basketball is awesome. I think I could end this post with that sentence, but I will explain.

Why have a true championship that nearly everyone in our state supports when you can have FOUR SEPARATE CHAMPIONS? I realize that some people (okay, most people) think that winning sectionals is no longer a big deal. They point to the fact that there are only 5 or 6 teams competing and because many rivalries do not play out because of differing classes..I say forget that.. Think about how many little Johnnys and Bobbys get to have SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP trophies now? How cool is that?

That movie Hoosiers about the little school winning it all? I guess some people call it the "greatest sports movie of all time" or something, and think it gave Indiana an identity that people around the nation could point to. Bologna! That movie stinks. There is now ay that is really based on a true story. Right? And anyway, why do we want to be known as a state that has the coolest and most competitive high school athletic competition on this planet? Wouldn't we rather be known for our eating and smoking habits than athletic glory?

I propose they go to 450 classes (or however many schools there are in Indiana) so that every high school wins a tropy. Wouldn't that be neat? Every little Johnny and Bobby would be so happy, and most importantly, so would their parents.

I <3 class basketball.

YES! I'm glad someone thinks the same way as I do.

The new format is a joke.

Oh yes, it was much better when a small school won a state championship every 65 years or so.

David vs. Goliath, tell me how all these other states had class basketball forever and somehow, Indiana, like in so many other things, thought it a bad idea. Another example of what a backward place this is.
