My take on "development"

Theres been lots of talk about development and re-development and revitalization. We dont need any of that. Fort wayne is good enough as it is.

We dont need to be attracting any workers. We got good jobs here already that arent going anywhere. Fort wayne's always been about transportation and manufacturing. Theres no sense in trying to be something that we arent. As I like to say if it aint broke dont fix it

We need to stick with what works. people dont want to live downtown. they want their own place with stores in driving distance. Whos gonna drive downtown where theres no parking and then have to walk? People dont like to walk in Fort wayne, hell I know I dont.

Stay the course Fort wayne. We dont need to risk what we already got

I know my job's not going anywhere. These manufacturing jobs are staying put. Right here.

George Bush has been saying "stay the course" for 4 years now and he's been right every time.

Screw those hippies. Stay the Course Fort Wayne

Stay the course indeed.

Keep getting left behind other cities of similar size. Do not attempt to keep your most intelligent home grown individuals in Fort Wayne. Do not attempt to revitalize downtown. Do not attempt to create ammenities for people to enjoy.

Stay the course I say!

I am conservative, and I take your 'sarcastic' remarks to heart. Staying the course, means exactly what it says, stay the course. What do you want to change your course now?

If you want "status quo" for the future of Fort Wayne, your blog should publicly endorse Matt Kelty for Mayor.

On a serous note, I can guarantee to any of the readers here that we will NOT be endorsing Kelty. Many of the bloggers here disagree on politics, but I THINK we all agree on that one.

You don't want Hardware stores downtown? Kelty does.

Why would there be hardware stores downtown? theres nobody down there to go to a hardware store. are people in three rivers apartments going to go to a hardware store? they dont have to fix anything, its an apartment!

WOW! This blog is full of the completely ignorant people who probably marry their cousins. If you want people to take you seriously, at least learn proper english, or do you think that is "too fancy" for you. Take your mobile homes and roll out of town. This city doesn't need you!

Speaking of development, have you seen what is happening to the old Dairy Queen near Dwenger High School and Northwood Middle School?

Looks like a drive-thru cigarette store!! Talk about convenience!

Now I can pull up to the window, let the kids out to walk to school, grab my smokes and drive straight home!

I actually think this blog is pretty darn funny.

So I take it you all are proud of the City Councilmen who want to keep building strip malls on the edges of Fort Wayne?

Do you think it is a good idea to relocate the Sheriff to New haven?

Do any of you think it is a good idea to pour money into downtown Fort Wayne while at the saem time letting developers build ANYTHING they want on the edges of Fort Wayne?

I think we should add more stop lights on Lima road to handle all the new SMs. There are not nearly enough and I need access to the new SMs there. When properly timed they do not hinder traffic at all. No need to build frontage roads or make access from side streets only.
