it was obviously an anomaly. you cant have prosperity without lots and lots of parking spaces situated directly in front of destinations. its a good thing we'll always have oil for our cars.
There's a similar aerial photo in Meijers. If you happen to see it, check out the old Barr Street Market. It appeared to stretch out for two full blocks. It would be something if the city was able to recreate this again. The NEW Barr Street Market is a start but it definitely is no comparison to the original.
Actually, the pictures do still exist, but I understand what you are trying to say even if you aren't capable of saying it. Even more depressing, a majority of the people depicted in the pictures no longer exist. I blame it on a lack of youthful leadership.

Life must have been tough back then having all of your shopping and everything in a centralized location and having to walk around.
I'm glad we bulldozed all those buildings.
Nice photo. Would the Harrison Square property be located at the bottom of this photo or just out of the range?
At the very bottom just to the right of center is the Embassy roof

I think at least half of these buildings were made into parking spaces.
everyone should go look at the pictures in Coney Island. Its depressing to see that the majority of the pictures do not exist anymore.

Most of those people died after the birth of Matt Kelty. Coincidence? I think not.
yes, the pictures do exist. I meant the places/buildings are nearly all gone.
Pave paradise...and put up a parking lot....
THEN put up another ballpark...
;)
B.G.
Memorial Stadium does NOT qualify as a ball park. It's a concrete slab. Nothing more.
