There is something missing in Fort Wayne. Something I couldn't quite point my finger at for years. That something is.... you guessed it... the FORT WAYNE FURY.
Does anyone else miss Damon Bailey knocking down three pointers? Does anyone miss Keith Smart patroling the side line as coach? Does anyone miss B list college players from all over the country showing up in our great city? I know I do.
There is a chance we may get a team to join the NBDL. This team better be known as the FORT WAYNE FURY.
I propose a new arena to be built adjacent to one of the newer strip malls soley for the use of the Fury and not to be shared with the Komets, Mastadons, or Indiana Kick, Fort Wayne Flames, etc. etc.. The only requirements are as follows:
1. Must have an Applebee's IN the arena which overlooks the court.
2. There must be shuttle buses from your parking spot to the door so as to limit walking as much as possible.
3. Must be cigarette sales inside along with spacious and comfortable places for everyone to smoke.
As for the team, as long as there are former Indiana Hoosiers and Purdue Boilermakers (who am I kidding?) on the court, I'll be okay with it. I just want to see those B List college stars back in Fort Wayne where they belong.
BRING BACK THE EXCITMENT, FORT WAYNE!

I hope they are called the Fury and have that crazy mascot. Maybe we could get even luckier and they could bring back Master P.
I'm hoping a different rap star will try to make a professional basketball career a reality this time around.
That might be a new post with a poll. Stay tuned.
Speaking of reality, we could turn it into a reality show and pitch it to ABC. We could call it "From Crime to Courtside"
We all know what great attention Muncie got from "Armed and Famous"
Give me a cig and a $4.99 sandwich from Applebees, and I'm in heaven.
Dont they know the NBA started in Fort wayne? That should be reason enough for a team
Zollner Pistons baby. I say bring them back. While we are at it we can bring back the FW Kekiongas. FW would be back in the NBA and MLB.
"Fort Wayne Fury, Fort Wayne Fury...uh uh...you can feel the POWER"
You go and dredge up the reason I hate Isaiah Thomas. He destroyed that league, he's about as much a businessman as he is NBA head coach.
