Festival shows racism remains in Indiana

I recently attended the blueberry festival in Plymouth. There must have been about 10,000 people there. I noticed that there was not one black person.

I have to conclude that racism has not improved but is still the same. Is this happening only in Indiana?

ANTHONY GABRIEL

Were they physically not letting minorities in?

I usually take the names off, but if someone knows this guy - please educate him on what racism actually is.

Wow, I thought we had long long long moved pass this stuff. I wonder what caused this to be even written by Mr. Gabriel.

Now please don't quote me on this, but I have heard tell that the Plymouth Blueberry Festival is ACTUALLY a front for the Arian Nation's annual autumn rally.

This comes to me from reliable sources who have witnessed this gathering which features many anglo-saxon, pale-skinned people coming together under the vail of picking blueberries.

NOW, that the cat is obviously out of the bag regarding this secret location, I suspect the rally will have to be moved to another discrete locale for next year's autumn shin dig.

The "I have heard" preposition rarely leads to anything credible. But this is really outlandish and I hope the writer is either embarrassed or joking.
I was at the Blueberry Festival a few years ago and the Grand Marshals were made up of firefighters from NYC--and several were black. I know for a fact (Not just 'heard') that these gentlemen have kept up friendships with the local residents, have returned to visit, have been invited back for parades and have hosted Plymouth families in NYC--ALL the firefighters included.

The original poster is so off base as well....That is like saying because he did not see one person of color While He Was There, that it shows that Black people are too racist to attend the festival.

Stop looking for and inventing problems, folks. There are plenty of real ones.

It has become clear to me now that the Plymouth Blueberry Festival has turned into a "situation" which warrants action from not only the Black community but other minorities as well.

I would not be surprised if Al Sharpton himself will organize a "counter-movement" for next year's Blueberry Festival. I suspect next year's festival will be attended by "crowds as far as the eye can see" of Black people, Brown people, even Yellow and Red.

I predict a cornucopia of all races coming together in Plymouth 2008 to help end racism and profess their love of blueberries.

I have heard after performing at Memorial Coliseum, Lil' Wayne and Bones, Thugs & Harmony will be making a surprise appearance in Plymouth to find out if racism really prevails. Once and for all we'll find out... Stay tuned.

hee hee -- that was silly. What he really meant was that it was racism against strawberries. I was there and there wasn't a red berry to be seen anywhere. Fruit-ism!
Seriously, people. Get a life.

this is extremely politically correct, but how about an equal time "watermelon festival"- fried chicken and collard greens for y'all!

but since Indiana was the hub of the KKK in the 20's , and their grandchildren now all run the government, with the exact same views, this is a legitimate concern.
