The Rants are beginning to be one of my favorite things to read. People can splash what ever unfounded and unresearched factoids and gripes they want without even giving their name, and people just have to sit there and take it. A lot of people would say, "Thats the same as this blog," but there are a couple of differences - We give you the chance to talk back, we spend at least 10 seconds of research on each post, and my parents regrettably named me Change FT Wayne.

Here are some of my favorites from this installment -
Humph! Looks like they're going to turn the North River area into a high-end village, not anything the public has said it wants — again. Wonder what flood insurance will cost the poor saps who decide to live there? Way to make fun of the people that already live in the area. Wait, nobody wanted the water park? Or to actually utilize the rivers?
Although it has been a good many years since I have been in school, there were no fans or air conditioning, and we all made it. It was hot back then, too. We lived through asbestos and a whole lot more. I guess the good old days are still better; we did not whine as much. Simply amazing.
What is this North River development talk? Aren't we all going to fight this crazy idea? After all, we want to keep this city the way it is, so the overgrown weeds and the abandoned OmniSource plant should stay! I'm led to believe this is a joke... hopefully.

The Rant exemplifies what I dislike the most about FW....the parochial views of many of the citizens. If you read the rant, you'd think all people in Fort Wayne want to do is park free downtown and smoke. And remember the good old days.

"Let's keep our eyes on the victims
As the crash of the judge's gavel echoes throughout the land signaling the beginning of the final end of another of Satan's intimates, John Couey, let us hope that our attention and our sympathies will not be diverted from our rational and reasonable instincts of justice by another quivering, giddy sap whose fervent hope and goal in life lies in prioritizing his crusade against the death penalty through a widely publicized exchange of Dear John pen-pal letters with this human scourge, but that we can focus our resources of love and concern on the victims of these depraved savages among us, on the little ones, the defenseless ones, and the innocent and their families who suffer these abominable onslaughts against humanity.
Couldn't our political and church leaders initiate public announcements and media alerts when the judicial system fails us by casting these predators back into our midst? Notwithstanding the current dangerously unreasonable application of diversity/sensitivity considerations and political correctness, our right to self defense is God-given and is second only to every man's right to life. After all, there is something much worse than occasional injured feelings and that is no feeling; which happens every time a murder occurs.
We all need to pray but not become prey.
