Kelty, unlike Vick, is blaming others

This is sick and wrong on so many levels. Love how he gets the race card out of the way right out of the gate - don't disagree with me or you must be one of those loser racists. "Slight edge to Vick?" The guy admittedly strung up dogs by the neck. How about Kelty won't plead guilty, because he ISN'T guilty.

Parallels? What parallels?

I love how McGill, claims Vick is saving us all from wasting taxpayers money on a needless trial. Gee thanks mike. The only thing he saved was himself from sitting in a jail cell for years on end. He's not taking responsibility, look at what he actually copped to.

Vick took the deal because it was the best outcome for him.

Kelty's deceptive and ambiguous campaign finances should never be compared to a dog fighting case.

Comm'on POD, this is a bush league article. You're better than this.

Vick is a dirtbag for doing what he did to those animals. He did, however, own up to it. Kelty is a dirtball for pulling so many fast ones on the voting public. The man is so steeped in his lies that it's too late for him to come clean. He will never admit that he did anything wrong. The closest he comes to telling the truth is stateing that he has a bad memory. Really?

I am no Kelty fan and I think he would make an absolutely horrendous mayor, but this editorial is the dumbest thing I have ever read. For him to compare Kelty and Vick is assinine. Vick is "taking responsiblity" are you kidding me? He took responsibility when he had no other option and to save him 10 years in prison!!

I am embarrassed for this man for writing such a foolish column

Check out a new blog. I have no clue about anything about this person. I have not seen the story he is talking about

I agree that he shouldn't have compared the Vick case to the Kelty case. And, putting in the paragraphs in about dog fighting in general could have been left out all together and they wouldn't have been missed. In my opinion however, if you look past these weak parts in this guy's editorial, he made some very good points about the Kelty case. Read those parts again guys and see if you think about his statement differently. I think he should have just concentrated on the Kelty case and the article would have been excellent.

Please note that Bill McGill is pissed off...because he kicked off the CANI's board of directors, for not pulling his weight? Do you want to know who replaced him? Matt Kelty!

I know Bill McGill very well! Mr. McGill is an individual who has pissed off the Allen County Community Corrections staff for not completing paperwork on time! He is very lax in manner, and cannot complete many task in a timely manner. Also, he has been through 2 Marriages in 10 years, and has one child! He started his church to gain a 3rd wife! IMO, I think that he is little frustrated that Matt has four children, and a healthy marriage!

The 10:56 post his pathetic. Drop the health marriage and four children bull crap

So... far... out of left field... huh?

I like how he intimates that we shouldn't have animal control until "THE CHILDREN!" are taken care of.

Because we can't handle more than one problem at a time, I guess.

"From AWB on 11/17/2006 on Matt Kelty:

You have as much a chance of winning as David Roach. Throw your support towards Peters, or join the Libertarian party. Mike could use someone with your qualifications.

P.S. You have too many pages on your web site under construction."

Anon 11:52, where is that posted? Is that on his site? I couldn't find it?

And yet Matt Kelty does not attend any CANI board meetings. Why is he on the board...oh, wait, I know, he needs to pad his resume because he cannot simply put that his business is failing.

Out of all the underhanded things Kelty has done, I find this one the most disgusting. He had the option of turning himself in quietly to the jail. Instead, he insisted on making a big production out of it to once again be portrayed as the victim. He thought it would make him look like he was being persecuted. How can he get away with these things.

Then, on the news, he says he's keeping his jail bracelet on until the trial is over and his kids can cut it off of him. They were traumatized. No SH&T Kelty. And you did it to them.

Looks like another blog has popped up.

Anonymous 7:18 - You have no idea what you are talking about! Matt surrendered himself at the court house when he heard a warrant would be issued for his arrest. (Bet you never heard about this from the media.) Matt made NO attempt to turn this into a spectacle - he voluntarily turned himself in. It was the media who turned this into a spectacle and continued to replay the video of him being taken away in handcuffs. I'm sure Matt and his family would have preferred it be handled differently.

How did the media know when Matt was going to turn himself in? I do not believe the Sheriff's office called the media- did Matt's campaign call?
The media does not camp out at the Courthouse with cameras and trucks waiting for something newsworthy to happen. They are usually tipped off.

I hear he also had the option of having the handcuffs covered with a jacket but once again he refused. He wanted everyone to see him as the martyr, victim, underdog, the misunderstood man of the people. This guy belongs in show-biz.

Kelty was scheduled to turn himself in on THURSDAY- not on TUESDAY. The thought was the media would get tired of waiting.

He showed up, unannounced, and was processed.

He was asked by the officers if he wanted to put his jacket over the cuffs- he declined.

Make no mistake about it- Matt Kelty staged this to get folks to feel sorry for him.

Plus couldn't he have just shown up at the jail itself? That way there would have been no need to transport him....but then again, that wouldn't have played into his role as God's Martyr for Fort Wayne.

Frank Gray is a respected criminal attorney and I cannot believe that Matt "didn't know" where to go - Matt either knows darn well what he's doing and is pandering (see above paragraph) or he's just too dim to be mayor.

Either way, I'm voting for Tom Henry.

Vick vs Kelty come on! What a stupid thing to compare to.
Those of you posting speculations have no clue. The Blog would be better if you'd keep your comments to yourself if you dont know facts.

Should I compare you liers to Vick?

Tom Henry vs Jimmy Carter = 2 do nothings. If Tom was so great, why didn't he do anything when he was on council except give domistic partners health benefits at our expenses? He's a has been!

Anonymous said...

No-one saud Henry was great. But he surely beats Kelty

To the person who mentioned Rev. McGills marriage and children, you must be a wounded wanna be Mrs McGill. Mcgill may be a lot of things but to start a church to find a wife, oh please!! This man could marry tomorrow if he wanted to! He just did not want you! He is a brillant thinker, a humble servant and a wonderful father and I believe you are all too shallow to appreciate the comparison he was making. He is a writer and he was writing about 2 relevant current events that he happens to be passionate about.
