My Hero

“I told them the party has got to stand for certain principles, including honesty and integrity,” said John McGauley, who was elected Allen County recorder last year. “But Kelty lied to us, he lied to the public and, apparently, he lied to the grand jury. We can run against (Democratic mayoral candidate) Tom Henry again in four years, but we can’t if we give up the core things we stand for."

I like McGauley more and more.

People over on Angry White Boy's site have chastised McGauley for standing up and speaking his mind. These individuals think that he should have just kept his mouth shut.

It's funny though because these are also usually the type of people that like Matt Kelty because he is not "part of the establishment". But now they want that establishment's support?

Kelty brought his problems on himself.

McGauley can't make his mind up.

Anon 1:18,

When did McGauley make those remarks? Was it before the indictments? Was it before Kelty revealed the true source of the loans and the poll?

People make decisions based upon the information that they have available to them at that time. McGauley was in favor of the party coming together and supporting Matt, but now new information has come to light.

McGauley is part of the republican party, and if you think about it, it took GUTS to say what he did. All of the other cowards will just sit back and watch the party self-destruct, with Shine pushing the button.

Well said kaiser.

Kelty will no doubt put his own "spin" on McGauleys statements. He will call McGauley just another cog in the machine that is the GOP. He will say McGauley was pressured into saying these things. He will say that McGauley isn't for the people but just another part of the "establishment". He will say anything but the truth. And the truth is that Kelty and only Kelty got himself into this mess. When you play with fire(lies) you get burned!

McGauley made those comments just this week. I am going to repeat myslef from yesterday's post--because it seems appropriate here and because I believe McGauley deserves credit for his courage.
"Thank goodness for McGauley who has the courage to speak the truth when others are saying it behind closed doors and then crossing their fingers hoping that Kelty doesn't become mayor. Their constituents deserve more--McGauley spoke the truth because he knows it is the best thing for this community. Shame on the others who think simply NOT being publicly supportive is sending the same truthful message. It is shameful, cowardly and detrimental to the community."

Anyone who stands up against Shine and now Kelty will be looked at as a back-stabber, a cheat, a liar, a coward - Oh wait Shine and Company already have those titles. My Bad!

Kaiser, you should really learn to do your own research. McGauley made those comments after all of this came to light. And now he's all of a sudden changed his mind. On top of that. he's decided Kelty is guilty w/o the benefit of a trial.

Incredulous.

Ah, my dear Heather...the comments were made on July 23rd, Kelty was indicted on August 14th. It seems that John was willing to give Kelty the benefit of the doubt, at least for a while.

Kelty is facing seven FELONY charges!!!!

McGauley was right!

John McCauley( Tim's Twin?) is a master brown-noser. He is merely jockeying for position to pick the Kelty campaigns bones like a vulture. He will try to be the caucus candidate to replace Kelty when he's removed for a felony.
I've seen his kind before. Lifetime professional career politician/bureucrat.
I notice he got out of the public sector ASAP- working for that Inkseep Tabloid whore.
And speaking of honesty and integrity- he has been spoon feeding Mitch Harper, and his tabloid blog "fortwayneobserver.com"(giggle)Insider information, and advance headlines leaked from insderes at the JG. You know- dealing in insider information on wall street is a Felony- but dealing insider information in the media on Mains street is merely another day of doing business.
And you should be asking yourself why there is a campaign at IPFW to "Think Helmke". The Helmke Family seems to acquired millions of dollars from publuc service- not to mention funneling millions of dollars of tax payers money to "the FIRM"- owned by daddy, grand daddy, and the KKK.(1924-1925- and then on ); and likely shaking down bootleggers for graft during prohibition. I didnt fall off the canal boat yesterday- I know whats going on in FTW, and it stinks to high heavens.
Republican "Integrity, and ethics" is a total oxymoron; including the GOP morons .
So be not deceived by this red headed, silver tongued devil. He is up to evil, under the name of "business as usual".
Vote in Roach, and watch the stuff hit the fan.
sorry that this isnt a sound bite/snarky remark, as per my usual MO.(hey moe!)

McGauley was told to do this by Shine. The entire Committee wanted these comments out there but didn't want to be held accountable for saying them. McGauley will be rewarded for doing his job. By the way did you hear that he is County Auditor? I thought that was Liz Blosser?

Rachel said...

I e-mailed the JG reporter and section editor this morning about the auditor/recorder mistake. However still this afternoon the error remained online.

Now not only does McGauley have one of the best political radio ads ever, he also has political moxie to stand up for what's right for the city, not just tow his party's line. I wouldn't mind if he would crossover the Democratic Party. And perhaps he can follow other Republicans and start volunteering at Democratic HQ to campaign for Tom.

John, will you be the chairman of Republicans for Henry?

Anonymous said...

McGauley is the first Republican I've seen locally stand up against the mandated support for a liar. That takes courage. If only the rest of the part would follow his lead, I just might turn Republican !

Please watch Kelty's Interview on Wane TV website. See if you can spot multiple untruths in the interview. This guy has an honesty problem:

Here is a sampling.

1. He states that the Allen County Election Board heard ALL of the same evidence. That is BS, he knows that numerous witnesses testified in front of the grand jury that did not in front of the board.

2. He says he has never been asked to step down. BS, he has been asked by executive committee members to step down and he knows it.

3. He says he is a "poor boy from the North Catholic Ghetto". If I am not mistaken Matt group up on Forest Park Boulevard.

My god, this guy is unfrickinbelievable.

He's unbelievable! Ohhhhh....

There he goes with the poor boy, underdog, misunderstood, regular guy theme again.

In a post on August 22rd, AWB said the following:

"I consider myself a Reagan Republican"

This is from the JG article about McGauley on the same day:

While Shine said he can’t control what the members of his party say, he asked that they follow the rule of Ronald Reagan never to publicly criticize a fellow Republican.

Guess what AWB, "You ain't no Reagan Republican".

McGauley, oh, I'm sorry was it really his words, or well plan and paid for speech written by Neumeister?

McGauley was the only one that could be pressured into talking about the meeting. There are much larger, powerfull and respected city wide people who passed. Had they come and stated the same thing it would have had more weight. Oh, I forgot they are the same ones that got used in the AD supporting Nelson Peters.

Surprising how quick some people learn.
