My Hawks

Cathy Hawks/Former GOP Vice Chair: "I would count my loss in this mayor's race. I would extend my hand of congratulation to Tom Henry, he loves this community, he has been an honest and upstanding citizen, let's let him run the city for four years and see how he does. Our option is Kelty or Henry. I'll be supporting Tom Henry.

Who cares what Cathy Hawks thinks! She has met few of the ground troops in the GOP. She does not have time for it.

I consider her beliefs and so forth right up there with the early years of Tammy Faye Baker.

What a self righteous piece of crap.
Cathy already lost the mayor's race in May.

You shouldn't print such things AWB. Everyone knows who you are.

I cannot condone or belive commets made by someone who is supose to be above all others when it comes to forgiveness, compassion and understanding. Perhaps a good look in the mirror is in order.

Why should anyone be surprised by her actions. Matt Kelty and a few friends set up the deal at Auburn with Glenn Beck a few years ago that supported our American troops in Iraq. They did the ground work and had it all done. Then came along Cathy Hawks and took over!

What is sad is the Democrat Party has improved so much in the last few years with their canidates. Now they have Cathy Hawks help them and that will set them back years.

Cathy "Hots" is more like it.

Follow the money...
what is it with you people who cant see through the clouds..???? If you want to know why all this was brought up, follow the money and the money that is complaining in the paper... bought, paid for and buying and paying for it...
Who buys land for 100,000.00 and than sell's it to the sheriff's office for $650,000.00? A large doner of course. It's all about who you can control and Hawks can't control Kelty.

The above is not new news. But the news media has given the person a big pass on this one also.

I just wonder if the local media hold daily meetings as to who will cover what stories, not cover others, and slant the news toward one interest?

I agree, who cares what Cathy Hawks thinks? I used to have some respect for her. I think she's just piling on.

I'm going to have to hear what the Grand Jury heard before I decide Kelty is guilty. I was recently on a jury and decided then that I would NEVER want a jury trial. My prayers are with Matt because this city needs some change & Tom Henry has been part of the problem.

Deb,

How has Tom Henry been part of "the problem?" Can you explain?

Anonymous said...

My guess is that was just an attack against Tom because he has experience in local government, and Matt does not.

Using that logic, anyone who has every held an elected office is "part of the problem". I guess that includes Marla? Oh wait, no, she supports Kelty therefore she is exempt. I forgot about the whole double standard thing.

Cathy Hots is right.

Tom Henry could have been a D or R. He is close to the middle of the road which will attrack many voters to him regardless to party.

Henry is just another good old boy and he's no moderate.

During his 20 years on city council he raised taxes and gave gays and lesbians minority rights' status.

He's a Tax and Spend Limp-Wristed Liberal.

AWB (aka Turd Burglar, cause he steal's everyone else's $hit) has an unflattering picture of Ms. Hotty on his site.

Milton,

Your exaggerations are quite entertaining, but please feel free to share more of your unfounded biases. After all, this site is not a dictatorship like AWB. You can speak freely here, just be prepared for some rebuttal. I know that's something that you won't find there, so I thought I
should just warn you first.

First, given all of the legislative changes that occur over a 20 year period at the federal, state, and local level, I think you'd be hard pressed to find any council person that didn't vote for at least some kind of tax increase, rate increase, or bond issue. Sometimes these actions are necessary to address things like unfunded mandates. If Fort Wayne had addressed its sewer separation back in the 70's, 80's, or even 90's, the costs would have been a lot less to rate payers than they will be now. Politicians like to make promises about not raising taxes, or not increasing fees, because it appeals to voters and often wins elections. But in reality, what these individuals ought to be telling us is that they're putting off today's problems and leaving them for tomorrow's generations, ultimately costing more in the long run.

Now, I want an elected leader to be responsible with my tax dollars. But I am cautious to support any politician that promises lower taxes, and more fiscal responsibility, when they really don't have an understanding of the challenges facing local government.

The only thing that I can say about your comment regarding gays and lesbians, is please provide us with more information then a sensationalized statement. What exactly did Tom vote for, or do, to give "gays and lesbians minority rights' status"? Can you provide some detailed information on this?

November 13 - The city council of Fort Wayne, Indiana passes an ordinance written by Democrat councilman Tom Henry which adds "sexual orientation" status to its municipal anti-discrimination law.

More hereand here:

Fort Wayne passes rights law

Fort Wayne, Ind. -- The City Council has made this the largest city in Indiana to include sexual orientation in its anti-discrimination law.

After four months of debate on the issue, the council on November 19 voted in favor of an ordinance drafted by council member Tom Henry.

Henry agreed to put off implementing the change until March 1, 2002, and to put it up for another council vote in mid-2003.

Only three other Indiana cities--Lafayette, West Lafayette and Bloomington--have protections for gays, lesbians and bisexuals.

A week prior, the council split 4-4 over the measure. The Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce and the leaders of the city’s equal rights agency had opposed Henry’s plan because of the lack of similar state legislation.

That's all we need are more minorities. More foder for the lawyers.

Ah, yes. That Kooky Kelty Kampaign is already starting the attack machine. March on, Christian soldiers, march on!

Thank you, Anon 8:03, for posting that information, and demonstrating that Tom Henry is a man who cares about progress in our great city.

Deb,
I agree, how has Henry been 'part of the problem'? He was one vote on a nine vote council. If you take the time to actually become educated about what Tom has done--look at his enlightened and progressive votes over the years, look at his commitment to the community before, during and after council. Don't fall prey to 'all politicans are bad' chant--Politicas are public sevants, some better than others. Tom's legacy is a good one. And your dismissal of him is childish.
You can wait to find out if Kelty is guilty--and you should BUT don't let that be your only 'investigative tool' in awarding your vote. I think you will see that regardless of this mess Kelty has gotten himself into, Matt is still a far inferior candidate.
Do your homework. FWT

What a strange thing the Allen County Offical Site is down and when did it go down. Maybe they don't want people looking at certain minutes of meetings. I wonder if the start of "running for cover" is underway?

The GOP site is there, I can see it. Maybe they just have the a$$h*le filter on, which would explain why you can't see it.

This site showes it is closed. Is this the incorrect address....
