Its not a happy day. Its truly a sad day when politics in FW are at this level.

I thought Fred Rost paid for the Zogby poll? Was Fred lying as well?

Anonymous said...

What the hell??? you paid for the poll? Will Rost now go to jail?

Anonymous said...

And some wondered why this blog has been questioning the financier(s) of the Zogby poll for months after the media outlets let it go.

Now we now the truth.... at least more of it.

Anyone hear all the whining Kool-Aide drinkers call into the Pat White show? Once again they were blaming EVERYONE BUT KELTY for all of Kelty's problems. Amazing and scary at the same time. I think Kelty has some weird cult going on in the Fort. Yipes!!!!

We all know what this demands:

WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?

=ahem=

We now return you to your regularly scheduled internet memes.

Isn't it convenient for people to say, "Well if Kelty is indicted, then you know it was just political."

If that holds true, then no politician can ever theoretically commit a crime.

I just don't understand how Mr. Kelty has convinced so many people that he is such an upstanding, honest man. It really is like the Jim Jones thing all those years ago. I too listened to the Pat White show and people were calling in blaming everyone but Kelty for this mess. What does it take for these people to realize their hero isn't such a good guy?

Anonymous said...

...and the Pat White show couldn't find a single caller who thought justice was served?

Anonymous said...

AWB doesn't have anything up on his site about this yet. I'm sure that he'll blame it on the Democrats, or Tom Henry, or Sigler...who knows.

Kelty's supporters will undoubtedly pull the political equivalent of "the race card". I mean, he couldn't have possibly done anything wrong, this happened because he was a Republican, or because he is a "Christian".

Again, who knows.

Anonymous said...

Apparently, only Kelty supporters listen to the Pat White show. Why doesn't anyone call in and tell the truth? Kelty brought this on all by himself. Well, he had some help from his "advisors". The guy does have some loyal supporters. Too bad they are all blind to the mans faults.

Anonymous said...

Jim Sigler partner in crime Tim Bloom cheated my family out of MILLIONS! And Sigler is cheating Matt Kelty! Never trust anyone from Bloom Whiteleather and Sigler! CROOKS!

More to come later!

Anonymous said...

Angry has his drivel up on his site now. I can see him frothing at the mouth as he wrote it. His loyalty to Kelty is, well, strange, to say the least. It doesn't surprise me that Kelty has followers such as Dan; nutty and nuttier...

Anonymous said...

AWB has spoken.

Anonymous said...

Here's another funny...Be warned, don't say anything against Kelty on Sylvester's site, for your post will SURELY be deleted. That site loves freedom of speech, unless you disagree with them. :)

BTW, I hear they are holding a rally for Matt tonight at the Courthouse green. Maybe we could stand around and chant for the "chosen one". I hear they will be serving Kool-Aide.

I completely agree with CFW. This is a sad day for local politics. I'm glad to see that the wheels of justice are turning, but ultimately it's upsetting to me that a candidate from either party is wanted to skirt election law.

Matt's supporters will see him as martyr and their support for him will only grow. Now we need to hope the undecided center won't want to vote for a man facing 7 felony chartes.

Anonymous said...

It's a happier day than if he got away with it. Yes, our political system is a mess and it's unfortunate that it has come to this. But isn't it better for him to be caught instead of getting away with lying? And frankly, all I really care about is Kelty not being our next mayor - that scares me the most.

Anonymous said...

Remember that it's not just his candidacy on the line here. It's also his job. Wouldn't a felony conviction mean he has to give up his architecture license?

Smart move, Kelty. If you really cared so much about your family, you wouldn't have put them at such financial risk with your foolish election moves.

This is a sad day for Fort Wayne.

I feel bad for Matt and his family but my God he should have just told the truth from the beginning and he should not have compounded his troubles by perjuring himself.

Even the Big Bopper cannot help him on the perjury charges

I wonder how many times the same anonymous person can post in a row?

For the record, you can post comments on my blog about Kelty as long as you follow the rules of the blog.

Anyone here who goes to my blog knows that.

What a pathetic cheap shot from a coward who will not sign their name...

I would be curious if any of you have ever met Matt Kelty or if you think you will just judge from what the media feeds you? Use your brain and think for yourself.

Come on Mike-

You know you deleted some postings. I saw them there and then....they were gone.

What is truly pathetic is that the news media failed to report that Matt voluntarily surrendered himself at the courthouse. They did not go get him to arrest him but handcuffed him to move him to booking. So much for honesty in reporting. These self-righteous media hounds are more concerned with further denigrating the man rather than reporting the truth.

Jennifer Jeffrey said...

Ever read the campaign finance book from the State of Indiana? I personally got a call FROM them saying they told us wrong information. It is SO easy to read the forms, rules, and directions and STILL do something wrong.

I would like to see the campaigns of EVERY candidate scrutinized the way this one has been. I guarantee you there are worse things which are never publicized.

MichaelK said...

Obviously he voluntarily surrendered, or the media would have reported his being taken by force.

I fail to see how reporting that he was arrested is untruthful.

Oh, unless you want a martyr angle by playing up the voluntary part.

Why don't you read this website:
ttp://www.bgswlaw.com/attorneys/ and question Timothy Bloom and Sigler, and ask them how they convinced my dying uncle that his own sisters and brother, who were wiping his behind, did not love them? Why BECAUSE THEY WANTED TIMMY TO GET ELECTED TO THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION! My uncle was so impacacited that he could not think for himself, let alone sign a paper! BLOOM & SIGLER BROKE THE LAW AND FORCED HIM TO SIGN IT! ASSES!

Anonymous said...

Yes, my pal AWB has spoken. But no one has responded. So, either he hasn't authorized the comments yet...or he simply won't post them because he doesn't agree with what was said.

Or, then again, maybe there was actually some kool-aide served at the rally last night.

Anonymous said...

If you look closely at TV reports of Tuesday night's pro-Kelty rally, you'll see AWB cheering his guy on. Short of and angel Gabriel hacking Kelty's enemies with a flaming sword, I don't know how anyone can imagine Kelty winning this election.

Anonymous said...

Matt Kelty WILL win this election.

Anonymous said...

I'm afraid you're right. Really afraid!

Anonymous said...

Kelty WILL NOT win the election. He lied to a Grand Jury. The GOP and Steve Shine better put Nelson Peters back on the ballot, or they have no chance.

Anonymous said...

Nelson cannot be put on the ballot.

Anonymous said...

They can have a caucus and get him on the ticket

Anonymous said...

No, they cannot. He is ineligible per state statute, because he ran and lost the primary.

Anonymous said...

Anon 11:48/12, you are both wrong. The deadline for voluntary withdrawal came and went a month ago. There are now only 3 ways off the ticket: he moves out of the city, he dies, or he is convicted of a felony. Shine cannot do anything at this point other than plan for what to do if he is convicted of a felony before the election (and before the ballots are set).

IC 3-8-1-5.5

(2) appears as a candidate for nomination at a convention and is defeated;
(3) files a declaration of candidacy for nomination by a county, city, or town convention and is defeated; or
(4) files a declaration of candidacy for nomination by a caucus conducted under IC 3-13-1 or IC 3-13-2 and is defeated;
is not eligible to become a candidate for the same office in the next general or municipal election.

I feel bad for Matt, but he made a huge, dumb mistake. I don't feel confident in running a city the size of Fort Wayne.

Anonymous said...

Regardless of what happens with Kelty. Nelson Peters forfeited his right to be on the ballot when he ran his horrible campaign and got it handed to him in the primary.

Tell Tom Henry to start measuring the drapes.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Nelson Peters has any intention of running for Mayor again.

Anonymous said...

I don't think ANY good person would have any intention of running for Mayor again.

Anonymous said...

It is foolish to think Kelty will win this election. He hasn't got a chance in hell. I'm republican, but after the primary I vowed to vote for Henry, and will do so in November. And, my guess is, so will many other repulicans. No one wants a guy who was indicted to be our next mayor. Too many dark clouds surround Kelty. It's embarrassing for the Rep party.

Anonymous said...

Even more Republicans are jumping ship now. Too bad.

Anonymous said...

Smart Republicans never got on the SS Kelty or the Victory Train that Shine has been trumpeting.

Anonymous said...

Kelty is a very charismatic guy with lots of energy. He was never even close to being fit to run this city though. The voters heard him say everything they wanted. None of it made any sense though. Very idealistic man but not Mayor material.

Anonymous said...

"“It’s only the timid half step of a beginning in the right direction,” Kelty said.

The best way to fight crime, he said, is to reduce unemployment. “At the end of the day we achieve a safer community when we have prosperity.”"

Kelty idealism at its best

Anonymous said...

There you have it...Kelty is clearly demonstrating the type of man that he is, right there. He's an opportunistic politician who takes cheap shots at his opponent.

Now I see what Matt and AWB get alone so well.

Anonymous said...

Kelty has ZERO credibility to speak on issues of crime, leadership, open government, running a successful business. He seems to be rolling the dice on his family's financial future all because his ego has him chasing the impossible dream.

Anonymous said...

where's the mealy mouthed AWB stooge that kept posting about this blog being dead? give em hell CFW!

Anonymous said...

Anon 8:07 AM:

AWB is off pouting somewhere. That and concocting some lame excuse why Kelty was forced to lie and deceive the public. BTW, have you heard the latest? Kelty did not commit a crime. This brought to you by none other than Angry himself…

”After I posted the indictment here (PDF file) earlier, Mike did what I was going to do tonight. He took the indictment one charge at a time and came to the conclusion that Matt did not commit a crime.”

Well, with that said, I guess we can call off the October hearing. After all, Angry and Mike have concluded that no crime was committed. Would anyone like to call the courts to inform them to take this case off the docket?

Anon 10:45...

Good post! I'll call the courthouse today.

When it comes to politics, someone should teach AWB the other 24 letters of the alphabet. He only seems to know "R" and "D".

Sigler:
Q. So your story is that Fred Rost, your campaign chairman, lender to you of 150 grand [$150,000], commissions a poll for your benefit to determine the publics sentiments on an issue that’s an issue in the campaign and he doesn’t tell you about it?

Kelty
A. Yes, sir.

Sigler:
Q. That’s your testimony?

Kelty:
A. Yes, sir.

Excerpts from a column by Fred Rost:

"No Good Deed Goes Unpunished."

This morning I released mayoral candidate Matt Kelty from his PLEDGE OF CONFIDENTIALITY regarding the source of the Zogby International poll, which I commissioned.

My question...if he didn't know Rost commissioned it, why the CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT?

Anyone?

Kaiser said...

Damn, that's good!

Anonymous said...

Either Sylvester's site is having problems, or I've been banned from posting the TRUTH over there.

"Fred Rost has issued a statement today saying that he paid for the Zogby Poll provided to mayoral candidate Matt Kelty. The filing deadline for Pre-Primary Campaign Finance Reports was at noon today.

He entitled his statement "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished."

This morning I released mayoral candidate Matt Kelty from his pledge of confidentiality regarding the source of the Zogby International poll, which I commissioned."
_______
While THIS instance may not fall under "perjury" it DOES indicate that Kelty new [likely] well in advance of the pre-primary campaign finance report deadline. Which would also indicate he was lying to the public about not knowing who paid for it. Had he said he DID know, but was silenced by a confidentiality agreement, it may not look quite so bad. However, Kelty stated that he did not know who commissioned the poll, THEN after sometime he said he knew SOME of the businessmen who commissioned it (which would also indicate that he KNEW it was more than ONE person. Kelty is so tangled in his own lies, he can't keep his story straight. And THAT kind of behavior is not what most DECENT people want in a mayor (or any elected official).

Anonymous said...

Why would Kelty have to sign a confidentiality agreement??? I don't understand this guy and his twisted thinking about the political system.
