The article claims that there hasn't been any other boating or events on the river. It seems as though they should spend a little more time investigating the riverways.
The truth is, I'm a boater. I sail, I jetboat, and I'll occationally schooner.
I'm also an entrepreneur, and I've been way ahead of the curve on exploiting our 2nd greatest natural resource (right behind galvanized steel) in FW.

And apparently they've missed CFW's 8th annual Memorial Day Water Show Extravaganza.

Although I was out of town the previous year, I made it a point to stick around for this year’s Water Show Extravaganza. I was amazed at the degree of difficulty some of the stunts required. Talk about talented individuals ! The skiers were absolutely magnificent, and handled themselves with such grace.
It was definitely one of the best water-acrobatic shows I have ever seen. You guys really out did yourself this year.
