My kleine im Stadtzentrum gelegene Entwicklung

Today's editorial is provocative and creative. I bring you The International House of Brautwurst. Yes this puppy is 6 floors of wiener.

I am not in favor of a stadium or whatever the new term for it is as the anchor of Harrison Square.

Consider this: We visited Newport, Ky., across the river from Cincinnati, for the purpose of eating at Hofbrauhaus Newport. It is a huge German restaurant that was built with the help of German sister city Munich. It was authentic German food with a live oompah-pah band. Fort Wayne has not had good luck with German restaurants. Perhaps if our sister city Gera could help us with the real deal, it would be a draw like the one I visited. I feel it’s worth an investigation.

This would be cool as part of Harrison Square.

Quick question: If we build an International House of Bratwurst in FW, will there be weiner dog races held on Sunday afternoons ?

We already have german fest, we don't need a german restaraunt! Especially not downtown. Where will I park?

This was one of the most asinine letters to the editor that I have ever read. "Scrap the stadium, condos, retail, etc., the City should focus its efforts on opening a restaurant!"

This one was right up there with the guy who wrote that we should build elevated highways instead. I think he could build about a mile of highway for the cost of the public contribution to Harrison Square.

It was also right up there with Kelty's ignorant letter, which stated that the only way the City could afford Harrison Square without raising property taxes was because they have all this new tax revenue from Aboite Township. This guy clearly doesn't understand the concept of a TIF district; and thus, should not be running for mayor.
