read through the obfuscations-
this doesnt create any new jobs, or cash- it only creates money from borrowing. and transfers wealth from retail/wal-mart workers, and burger-flippers; to the pockets of developers, and union construction workers. average wage 15,300? thats barely 7.50 an hour.
add into this the dubious attraction of a baseball game without any male night clubs, or bars, or gambling venues, and we have midtown crossing- the sequel-
that project was the first attempt to do what this one purports to do.
sorry- i dont see the benefit.
they used to call transfer of wealth from the rich to the poor socialism- i guess the transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich is called progress?
call me dubious, and skeptical.
no bars, no strip joints, no gambling halls- doomed to fail. bet me a beer and a lap dance on that wager?

Was anything attached to the midtown crossing project? Was there any push for downtown development back then or were people as resistant to change as they are now?

they just keep getting better, I'm blown away.

Why so hostile to the burger flippers Dave?

What does Eaton laying off 18 people have to do with Harrison Square? Did I miss something?

Gambling halls I can live without, strip joint and bars I can't.
