I think you'd do a nice job and you seem like an honest person I could support even though we disagree on many things. Unlike the current Republican candidate.
Mike has lived in Fort Wayne continuously for only four years. He became a resident of this city after the annexation of Royville took effect. Kelty actually does have more experience with local politics.
Henry also does not have the experience I would look for in a Mayoral candidate.
He was on City Council which means he was one member of City Council and had no management responsibilities.
He owns and operates a small business; however, he has no management experience in a larger environement. Heck I have more management experience then either Henry or Kelty in a large company setting and I feel my experience is lacking.
My point is that both Mayoral candidates are somewhat lacking experience in overseeing a large number of employees.
Mike said that he does not know much about Fort Wayne politics. He has only lived in Fort Wayne for 4 years. He's learning fast, but he feels he is not ready this year.
I did not know you've just been an official resident for 4 years, but as Robert said, you're obviously ahead of the game if that is the case.
Fair points though.
I would agree that selecting people for the "team" is very important, especially for people like Henry or Kelty that may not have all the required management experience as you say. I think Henry is better prepared, and we can agree to disagree.
As for the million dollars, yeah, that'd be tough to overcome for most.
Like I said, I do appreciate what I see as your honesty and conviction even though we disagree on the issues quite a bit.
ROACH FOR MAYOR!! I voted for Matt Kelty in the GOP primary, before I found out about these shenanigans. sounds like a nigerian money swindle plot. So will Don willis, Fred Rost, Cathy Humburger, Steve, and Gona Jail, and that kooky pro-lifer lawyer, and the rest of the pro-lifer loony toons be selected to the Kelty Kabinet? and what exactly does "My Man Matt" have in mind with his "vision as architect for a new fort Wayne"? anyway? The MECCA of the midwest? burkhas for all the women? Saudi America? So drink the kool-aid! and vote for ROACH!!! the right man. the right place, the right time. the right gamble!! giggle!!!

I don't get this.
Sylvester...
Mike Sylvester
Why not John Kalb?
One thing that would differentiate me from Tom Henry for sure; you would know where I stand on issues that affect Fort Wayne!
Mike Sylvester
Spoken like a true politician.
I'd rather have a public servant...
How bout it Mike?

I would rather have a candidate that has ideas and convictions.
Old Fort 83:
I am not qualified to be Mayor of Fort Wayne for several reasons:
1. I do not have enough knowledge about how Fort Wayne Government works.
2. I do have management experience; however, I think a Mayor should have experience overseeing fairly large operations.
3. I could not raise the one million dollars I would have to raise to run a Mayoral campaign.

Mike, your experience for holding a Ft. Wayne governmental office is no less than Mr. Kelty's.
"2. I do have management experience; however, I think a Mayor should have experience overseeing fairly large operations."
And you still support Matt Kelty?
Are you sure, Mike?

Robert your post makes no sense. Mike said: "I think a Mayor should have experience overseeing fairly large operations."
How does living in Fort Wayne for four years have anything to do with that statement?
Barranda/What?:

Mike,
The success of a Mayor depends largely on their ability to select a good team of leaders within the organization.

Mike, you would get a lot of votes in this race. You should consider moving.
I think it's strange that all of a sudden, Sylvester thinks experience is important for a Mayor. Why then would he have supported Kelty?
