My Yellow Signature

People argue that they are against the FWCS project because of tax increases. I think that people need to take an introspective look into priorities and their spending.

Look at the News Sentinel's article about the new iPhone. HERE
Dozens waited in line Friday outside two Cingular-AT&T wireless stores in Fort Wayne (Glenbrook Square and 527 Coliseum Blvd. E.) to buy the much-hyped, much-anticipated Apple iPhone. The phones, which combine the functions of a cell phone, iPod media player and Web-surfing device, cost $499-$599 and a minimum $59.99-a-month two-year service plan with AT&T Inc., the phone’s exclusive carrier. If you’re wondering what buyers were thinking, so were we:
“I got (my mother) interested in the iPhone because she can sell it on eBay for a profit. But for me, I just wanted it because it has everything all in one.” — Brittany Watt, 14, buying an iPhone with her mother, Laureen, 52, at the Coliseum Boulevard store

This is the mind set? Willing to spend a minimum of 60 bucks a month and a grand on two phones for a fourteen year old.

Are we left to assume that none of the Change Fort Wayne contributors own real estate in Allen County?

Why are you left to assume that?

That would be the correct assumption. Otherwise, they would not be hiding behind this blog as an anon poster (or imposter). Not only do they not own real estate in Fort Wayne, they don't live here.

This blog is on the downhill side of "dead on arrival". It's nothing more than a playground for the YLNI (translated / little kids try to act grown up).

What in the name of god does this have to do with the post? Or even "Brett Jensens" (AWBs) incoherent rambling?
I hope Bretts (AWBs) "MANHOOD" is longer than his attention span.

I think the point of the post was, what is more important, fancy cell phones or you childs education? I'm not a Yellow supporter, but it's still something to think about.

1. Only a very small portion of the population stands in line for the latest tech gadget.
2. It doesn't bother me that much when idiots waste their own money. But it bothers me a lot when the government wastes my money.
3. Ten years from now, those kinds of phones will be reasonably priced and most people will own one. They will all be that much better of for it. But someone has to be the first to pay $500 for it, just as someone had to be the first to pay $2000 for an Apple IIe.

Cell phone or education?

I'll take the cell phone

Wait, I get it. CFW is saying that if a couple dozen people in Fort Wayne are willing to waste their own money, then everyone else in town should be willing to let other people waste our money, too. It's perfect logic.

I would take the I-Phone

The mind-set in this town never ceases to amaze me. It seems any attempt to improve our community is met with fierce resistance and negativity. The cost of the improvements, estimated between $ 3 - $ 20 a month on one‘s property taxes, is a small price to pay for improving our city’s schools. When you have schools with outdated heating systems, inefficient windows, leaking plumbing and deteriorating roofs, does it not make sense to update the buildings with new energy efficient systems and building materials to save the taxpayers money in the long run ?

When I drive north of the city on Coldwater road and see what a nice facility the new Cedar Canyon Elementary School is, I can’t help but wonder why the children in our inner city aren’t deserving of the same.

It will just cost more to do the same work in the future when this issue is brought back up. Wonder if it takes a roof collapse to sway a few minds?

Roof collapse?

Just buy some tarp at Wal-Mart...it should block the elements for at least a few years.

The schools were fine when I was a student 50 years ago, and I'm sure they are fine now.

$3 a month?

Andy, I still need my smokes.

The kids ca wait.

For some reason the Justin Timberlake song, "Cry Me a River" is stuck in my head after reading this blog.
