My Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend is here, and many of you are already taking advantage of the long weekend. Please take a minute to remember why we have this holiday weekend. Take the chance to thank your service men and women, reflect on lost loved ones, and count your blessings - we have much to be grateful for.

Happy Memorial Day, God Bless the U.S.

Remember the Memorial Day Parade honoring our veterans - it is Monday at 11 a.m. along Parnell Avenue (from State Street to the Coliseum). There is a ceremony at the Coliseum as well.

Thanks Karen. I was just going to post that.

For a city of 250,000, the Memorial Day parade and the Veterans' Day parade have terrible turnouts.

Please, everyone, take a little time out of your lives to attend the parade. The parade lasts about an hour, and the short service at the Memorial Coliseum is usually about 20-30 minutes. That's an hour and a half tops to honor our veterans.

Our veterans not only took a great deal of time out of their lives to serve us but also gave their lives to protect us.
