My Editorials - Part VLXI

I saw this in yesterday's newspaper - read HERE

Ron Reinking’s Q&A op-ed column about Harrison Square, “Government record poor with private ventures” (May 14), was very informative, but I believe that there are even more basic questions that must be answered, hopefully in a specific, realistic way and not with the pie-in-the-sky generalizations we have heard so far:

The downtown has evolved into basically an office park. What exactly is wrong with that? Besides the doughnut effect it has created in Fort Wayne? Nothing. I believe the North River people handled it well - read HERE (last FAQ)

What exactly is “downtown revitalization”? What exactly are the goals? Who (name and title, please) is responsible for assuring that those goals are met? What is the planned action if the goals are not met? Where exactly has this person been living? "What exactly is 'downtown revitalization'?" Really? Seriously? But if you want to know - a good source for anything you want to know about revitalization is HERE

What exactly will be the benefits (please include numbers) for the average citizen/taxpayer? I believe the EXACT benefit will be $23.14 per average Fort Wayner.

Too much pie in the sky?

Has anyone else noticed that FWOb has been very actively blogging over the past 2 days, about anything and everything except the Kelty mess? (Yes, he put up the snivelling letter from Matt with no comments but that does seem a rather underwhelming response to a fairly significant political event.)

And that annoying Indiana Pundit, the Self-Appointed Diviner of All that is Political, has been remarkably quiet.

So, Republican bloggers, what sayeth you?

I'm a Pub blogger, and I've written about financing problems because this is the second time that he's covered Rost's name up. I also don't think we've received a full explanation of the zogby poll deal - Do we really believe that Kelty didn't know who paid for the poll in the first place, now that we know that he received a 150k loan from the guy too? It was indicated that several people funded the poll, but one came forward, are the Jehls the other funders?

"Do we really believe that Kelty didn't know who paid for the poll in the first place...?"

Rost was quoted in the paper as saying that he was releasing Matt from his promise of confidentiality re: the Zogby poll. Why would there need to be a promise of confidentiality if Matt didn't know who paid for the poll?

FWOb is Old Media now. They would rather report on Spring Peepers than breaking news.

CFW - Keep reporting the news without any bias towards poitical party affiliation.

You are gaining notoriety for pointing out, sometimes, the painfully obvious, absurd things that us in the Fort see happening around us on a daily basis.

I don't really care what party affiliation our current, next mayor or city council may be. I have no allegiance to any political party. What I DO care about is the future and prosperity of our town.

If we are to CHANGE Fort Wayne, hopefully for the better, the people in our city need to elect leaders who will take us to the next level whether they be Republican, Democrat, etc.

I like your comments too. Your analogies are usually awful however.
