Found this comment over at the Nelson Peters for Mayor Facebook Group:
"Ok, well first of all, consider that Matt Kelty is into design and achitecture and he would normally pounce on something that big if he could however, he didn't actually come out with his 'alternative plan' until he saw peoples reactions. You have to look at it this way, Kelty has no political experience whatsoever, and Peters having experience on both the city and county government would have been great. If Kelty wins the fall election that will just be reason #100 of why I will not move back to Ft. Wayne after college."

I vote that we get some
"REELECT HARRY BAALS" T-SHIRTS for three rivers festival.
If Kelty is elected there will be a lot of people seriously considering leaving the Fort.
Luckily, we have an EXCELLENT choice for Mayor: Tom Henry.
I really doubt that people will actually move away due to the choice in mayor. I will be very disappointed if Kelty wins, but it will not be a contributing factor if I move away.

.. be disappointed and move away. :) That'll be one less vote for the liberal tax-and-spend Tom Henry.
I seem to remember Alec Baldwin saying that he would move out of the country if Bush was elected President. He's a moron and so are these people.
I support Matt Kelty; however, I understand why some poeple think that he is not the best choice for Mayor.
I think he is the best choice for Mayor.
I want to see Fort Wayne become a City that supports small and medium sized businesses, has few regulations, and keeps its taxes low.
I think Matt Kelty will do that.
Mike Sylvester
If Kelty gets elected mayor in the fall, the Convention & Visitors Bureau will need to change their slogan to "NO Room For Dreams."
I don't understand what that means Mr. Last Anonymous... Encouraging small businesses and entrepreneurs to succeed is what that slogan's all about... I would think. I think Mike's third line is one of the best points he makes over and over again.
I think the city is in danger of giving some businesses a "Why even try?" attitude, but I'm confident & hopeful that collectively the city will do the right thing... and allow Fort Wayne to reach its level of uniqueness and greatness.
Park or Die - If that's your comment in bold type, I sure hope you find a "We will entertain you as you desire" place to live. I don't think we will miss you at all. John B. Kalb
John,
That was not my comment. It was posted by someone on the Nelson Peters' for Mayor page on Facebook
Just remember WWMD, "What would Matt do?" I've decided to start living by that code.
That is absolutely scary, WWMD. I can't be the only person who thinks Matt or others think he is the messiah. Whether he stands for small business and low taxes or not (which is great) - this type of stuff (like WWMD) scares the living crap out of me.
news Flash!
I'm betting even money that there is a secret movement afoot to circulate petitions for City Police apologist Michael Joyner to run for Mayor. If he looks vaguely familiar, its because of the vague resemblence to OJ!! hmmm. OJ, and MJ....giggle.
dont blame me, I voted for Roach. And if someone were to curculate Roach for Mayor petitions, I would certainly fill out the proper consent form at the Election board. think of the fun!!!
A 4 way race- 2 independents, a far left democrat, and a far fight Republican, a police miscengenator, and a pesky Roach.
Now that will stir the pot! Oh Nelson Peters- are you listening? who said thares nio such thing as a second chance. Will Schill for Mayor! If you liek "sob's", you'll love Roach. Its Deja vu all over again...
Yeah, Roach, and you would get your usual 38 votes. They're shaking in their boots.
BAALS for mayor.
I'll settle for Henry though.
Roach, who is the "far left democrat" - anywhere but Indiana, Tom Henry would be considered a conservative/centrist Democrat.
I'm curious what the other 99 reasons for not moving back to Fort Wayne are, and why local government is so low down the list.
I mean, if you've made a list of 100 reasons why not to move back, then I can't imagine the poster is going to be a really positive and helpful citizen of Fort Wayne.
I'd rather put together a list of things that make me LIKE the Fort, regardless of its mayoral leadership. Top of my list are: family friendly, very low traffic, and lots of potential. And most natives are a lot smarter than anyone gives them credit for.
Sounds like the poster should just stay there. We won't miss them.
