My Kelty Reading Material

I wrote this comment on an older post but want to be sure people see this. Leo Morris, in yesterdays editorial, stated that there were many people behind Kelty because their weekly poll had 3,500 responses to the question of whether the Rep. party should stand behind Kelty. This was an all-time record high for responses. I just thought it was really ignorant of Mr. Morris to not realize that one can delete cookies and vote many times. I'm sure Kelty had "his people" working their computers to get the response he wanted. And needed. But Morris fell for it even though one of your readers called the News-Sentinel and told them how rigged the poll was last month when the question was asked "who would you vote for". Remember, - Ivan Hood won. Apparently, the people at the Sentinel don't care how bogus the polls are, they just want people visiting thier web-site. Hmmmmmmm

The Kelty Conundrum.

I read the JG articles this morning about the Kelty situation and the following inconsistencies popped out at me from the articles.

We are asked to believe by Kelty himself that Rost made him a 150K loan with a reasonable expectation of being paid back and that, according to Kelty, could be used for anything he wanted. According to the JG it was payable by November 2007. So, we are asked to believe that Kelty has the financial werwithall to pay this huge loan back, BUT yet as the campaign in the primary came down to the wire, Kelty appears to have not had ONE personal dollar to loan the campaign himself. He had to go borrow another 10,000 from his campaign manager. The one thing conspicuously absent from the Kelty campaign report are any ACTUAL loans from his OWN personal funds. Is it safe to say that the guys architechtural career has not been stellar? Otherwise, might he have a spare $10.000? 5,000? or maybe 500? to put in to his own campaign. Contrary to earlier statements, Kelty had no skin in the game. The notes were unsecured, and there was no way that either one of these individuals will sue to get a judgement against Kelty if unpaid. The fact that Kelty apparently cannot make himself a loan of any amount really should call into question how successful of a business man he has been. He touts his business successes in his commercials. I call BS.

Furthermore,

talk about a nightmare scenario. The tea leaves in the newspaper indicate that this matter is heading to the judicial system. I am sure the GOP would like to ask him to resign, BUT there is not way he resigns because IF he resigns he will continue to have to fight this legal battle and appears to have no funds to do so. He is entirely reliant on campaign contributions to fight this battle so he has to stay in no matter what.

What an unfortunate choice Fort Wayne voters are going to have for mayor.

Apparently Kelty, before coming clean about the loans, had told people that it was truly HIS money and that he lives frugally.

I am sure most frugal people consider a $160,000 of 12% debt a very very frugal decision. Unless, of course, you dont really have to pay it back.

CFW, you really should post a spot about Kelty and campaign finance...or maybe something about the new smoking ordinance. You know, something original and new.

ROFLMAO..

AWB is making an ass out of you on more than his Blog. You should look under your own noses.

This comment is in response to the poll about whether Kelty's loan was legal. Looks like you have Kelty people reading your blogs - they are doing the same thing they did with the Sentinel poll last week. Deleting their cookies and voting again and again. At least you have wide-spread readership.

AWB is an ass. Thanks Paul. Get back to the GIS mapping.

Kelty-Gate- Its not the crime, its the cover-up. perjury, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, RICO, Pro-Life Clinic bombers, religious extremists, homegrown terrorists..

So, is that how you describe the vote held on primary election day? Voters went into the voting booth, then walked outside, cleared their cookies, then went back in and cast another Kelty vote?

Change Fort Wayne used to be funny. Now its just become tiresome.

I can only imagine the laughter as people click on your link to AWB. That's too funny. Kudos to Angry White Boy for kicking your ass. Once again he's proven you're not very smart.

The only remaining question for Kelty is can he raise enough to pay off his loan. I dont think he can. I think Kelty will raise about $75,000 which will be enough to pay the Big Bopper's attorney fees. He will end up with at least $100,000 in debt and will have no money to run his campaign.
