How do you mess something like that up?
He received money from three people, why would he count that as a loan from himself.
And he thinks he can run a major city? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Kelty will now be an answer to a Fort Wayne trivia question years from now. "Who won the GOP primary, the year Nelson Peters was elected Mayor"
Steve Shine didn't sound too optimistic in the News Sentinel.
Maybe Peters will now get the nod
So lying about something for 5 months, and then "coming clean" about it only after weeks of pestering by fellow Republicans, is considered "proactive" by Shine? That is AMAZING spin. One might even think of the word "balls" in phrases to describe it.
Tony Snow look out - Steve Shine is obviously after your job.
We aren't talking about a few hundred dollars here.
This is almost $150,000.
Kelty cheated. Time for him to go.
Republicans are in disarray. Even if Peters somehow "gets a nod" I think this basically hands the job to Henry.
What say, SYLVESTER!! and AWB?
SYLVESTER!!! will not be happy
Does the Allen County Right to Life support all this corruption?
Will they now support Tom Henry? An honest, hard working, Catholic?
All I have to say is two words:
GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY
Timmmy, Fred Rost is the King of Allen County RTL.
Draw your own conclusions. Apparently lying and breaking the law are consistent with the family values these folks have.
RTL'ers, prove me wrong.
SYLVESTER!! as a newly minted Certified Public Accountant, I hope you are repulsed by your boy's actions. Opague or Transparent Mike?
Wow. I am so shocked that Nelson Peters did not get the Allen County Right to Life endorsement.
AWB featured a picture of Cathy Hawks in a prison jump suit, I wonder if he will do the same for Matty Boy.
Park or Die - You forgot THIS headline!
I know the GOP "recently pressured" Kelty to answer questions about this loan. But it has been a well known fact that Kelty does and did not have this kind of money and there was 'talk' from the day the loan appeared. I wonder if the GOP would have done anything at all if they weren't so desperate to get Peters back on the ballot? I think they were-and are--playing the ends justifies the means game. They want Peters and are determined to get him--voters be )#^($! We would never have heard of this had Kelty lost the primary.
If the republicans knew about this before the primary why didn't they call him out so Peters would look better and get more votes?
You're right Parson.
Parson,
The GOP didn't 'call him out' before the primary because they didn't expect Kelty to win! They wanted to avoid more bad press within their own party if they could. Ultimately it was more self serving to the party to use this information to obtain their goal. Yes, they were also worried that the Dems would dig into it. But, notice that Shine admits they knew about it during the primary but did not want to get involved in a contest within their own party. (which is laughable considering the support the party and party officials and elected Republican officials gave to Peters) I don't know what your are questioning--you can't be saying they didn't know. Shine already erased that doubt.
