Here you go Mike, I need the hoards of Libertarians to swarm on this one. READ and HERE
I know I touched on this briefly a bit ago, but I think this is a pretty good example of how FW needs to start operating a little more intelligently.
Now, if you want to talk about a waste of tax payers money. Here it is. A pointless relocation to 'accommodate technology needs.' Unless they are burning trash to heat the place in the winter, what can't be accommodated in a old building? While we're at it, the court house screams 'old' - lets level it.

I certainly agree that this is a great example of government waste!
There are so many examples...

It's like the BMV, if they were to do something intelligent, it would go against the very core of their being.
It would be interesting to see if these entities suddenly ceased to exist upon doing something they're actually supposed to do, in a sane and intelligent manner.
I liked the statement, "he sent a letter to the site developer about two years ago pointing out the problems with the site, but the government moved forward with the ill-advised plan."
It reminds me of Harrison Square.
This is unfortunate ... if we are truly going to do downtown improvement right, we need to work it from both ends .....
This is a federal issue. Legally, city officials have as much control over this as you or I. If the new SSA site is too far away from the nearest bus stop, then my advise is to contact the bus company and ask them to have a bus stop by the new site.
David,
Social Security isn't going to draw young people downtown, unless they happen to be receiving benefits.
Robert -
I think you missed the point and problem of the current situation.
You as a Libertarian should be upset that this move would force the bus system to access this site only due to the fact they decided to move. This would cause the city to use tax dollars to fund a pointless bus route.
