My Crystal Ball

I hope this is true. I shudder to think about Kelty being the mayor of Fort Wayne.

"A vote for Kelty is a vote for Henry in November" is something a friend of mine said. As a Peter's supporter and a life long Republican, I am upset about Kelty's win. I am undecided. I'm not a big fan, but Kelty ran a strong campaign and may be able to knock out Henry, but somehow I see the democrats holding on to the office. Who will I vote for? I guess I have some time to think.

It's going to be interesting. Looking forward to Henry stepping up his campaign. Kelty certainly put the work in and will undoubtedly continue to do so.

Just wait for people to see that Matt Kelty associates with someone name Angry White Boy.

There's a lot of good "stuff" on that blog.

I thought that Kelty's win would assure a Henry victory. But I saw both men interviewed on WANE TV last night and I say ADVANTAGE KELTY.

Henry is going to have a tougher race with Kelty than he would have had with Peters and I am a Peters supporter.

CFW, you predicted that Peters and Mildred would win. Peters lost, Mildred came in last.

Park or Die and myself both said Kelty would win.

I didn't post any other picks.

I also shudder when I think about Kelty being the Mayor of FW. When I hear him refer to the Mayor’s position as “Rocket 1”, I cringe. When I read his letter to the News-Sentinel calling for building a downtown hardware store as a way to revitalize the inner core, it startles me. When I hear Kelty state, “ I have a business partner who's very frustrated with me because I'm not spending the time I need to to market our firm so we continue getting work.”, my concerns only continue to grow.

We are now beyond the typical, “Kelty’s a nice guy, but….” response. There needs to be a sense of urgency to stop this train wreck from happening. I am a registered Democrat who was prepared to vote for Peters in the fall, but Henry is now my choice by default.

If you have any vested interest in seeing our city compete and prosper in the 21st century, and not fall back into the 1980’s, Henry is our city’s best choice.

Thanks, I know what I wrote and I know what the outcome is.

Mildred was a pipe dream and wishful thinking. Peters actually had a chance.

It does bring up a couple of things - the way our primary elections are handled, i.e. declaration of parties, cross over votes. And also, this also goes back to Harrison Square, the overall lack of interest/participation in the general public.

I supported Peters. I will be calling the Henry campaign today to offer my support and my help in November.

Anonymous said...

Both of my parents, small business owners, were huge Peters' supporters.

They already have said they are backing Tom Henry.

I will be donating money to the Henry campaign

So many anonymous posters here one would suspect it's the same person time and again.

Fort Wayne will not elect Henry for Mayor. They're tired of the status quo and Henry's a big part of that machine.

Kelty is part of the neo-con crowd.

We saw how that worked out for Republicans in 2006.

Old Fort 83 said...

I think Henry stands a very good chance to win.

Like I said, it will be interesting.

Two things that worry me:
Kelty showed us what kind of leader he would be when he said on WOWO that he knew he giant sign was illegal, but was not going to take it down until the city made him

All the WT wearing kelty shirts at headquarters who will be attempting at running our city.

I have heard rumors that if elected as Mayor, Kelty has promised Marla Irving that she will be his Deputy Mayor. This is reason enough for me to vote for Tom Henry in November.

Anonymous said...

I thought he was going to name Pope Benedict the Deputy Mayor?

I am curious to know about the anon. posters as well. Hard to tell if we're just getting more turn out or the same poster or 2 over and over. Make up a name, any name to distinguish your posts as being different from the other anons.

old fort 83. Tell us your name.

Anon. My name is Old Fort 83.

Anonymous said...

Tell me who you are. Are you too scared?

Anonymous said...

CFW, please do not take the mystery out of this blog.

Old Fort 83 said...

Oh, I'm terrified.

My name has nothing to do with this blog and the creator of the blog wishes to keep the contributors anonymous and known only via their posting handle.

Maybe some day that will change. Maybe not.

I enjoy reading and contributing to "change fort wayne blog". Truly a public Soapbox, open to all..

Tom Henry Wants to take your guns away!. He already took away your cigarettes, by passing the smoking ordinance- which is why he was voted out. And he supported an ordinance to give special rights to persons based on who they slept with, with rights to sue, over alleged discrimination, based on same.
I filed a p[olice report with the FWPD vice and Narcotics over illegal gambling machines at his family "Green Frog Saloon". which makes him a racketeer, and conspiracy to commit racketeering, by statute definition.
So I would never support an elected official who supported and received income from illegal activities. I will be releasing the FWPD control number, filed with Vice Detective Stoner (giggle!).
I have nothing aginst Cherrymasters, or expanding gambling in Allen county- In fact I heartily support a service/entertainment/tourism basec economy, like Reno NV, or Las Vegas. Slot machines, Internet betting, sports betting, Everything should be legal for small business owners to operate, and their customers to play, as long as it is controlled from criminal influence, and all laws are folowed, all taxes are paid, and all games are fair.

BTW- look for FWPD apoligist Michael Joyner to "Joyn" the race as an independent- I bet petitions are already sureppticiously circulating. Tom Henry was likely a "prevent defense" to keep Roach from filing, or winning..

So meanwhile- tom Henry wants to take your guns away. this is the fatal flaw of all left wing liberals. Many constitutionally minded Democrats, and many other liberals suppport gun rights to protect their freedoms of expression, etc. from a totalitarian government. But around here, to be a Democrat, and win a primary, let alone a general election, one must knee-jerk support gun grabbers.
Look at what happened to Jill Long, and her support of the Brady law, and so-called "assault weapons" ban. (just another loaded buzzword- Washington, and Lincoln won their wars with muzzle loading "assault rifles/sniper rifles").

Besides, how much damage can a bunch of religious supporters do to a local political subdivision anyway? There isnt any particular way to plow a street, or pick up leaves, or trash, or fill a pothole, is there? Fort Wayne certainly wont become a Salt Lake city overnight...So "Fear no Evil"..

Exactly Roach. This is definitely a soap box for anyone and everyone no matter their views.

My call for making a name wasn't so that we know specifically who each poster is (they can let it be known if they personally choose to), but just to distinguish for the sake of knowing who posters are responding to, and so we know just how many people are contributing under a certain topic.

We allow anonymous posting so people don't get turned away, but it's really easy to create a handle.

How'd your last Mayoral Run go? (snicker)

Anonymous said...

The anon posters are not the same. I stated earlier I was a Peters supporter and that I will be (already did) contacting the Henry camp to let them know they've got my support and that I will volunteer.

The thought of Kelty running this city makes me physically sick. I will rally around Henry and do everything I can to get others to do so too. Kelty will not be the next mayor of Fort Wayne.

Roach, to think anyone is going to "take your guns away" is ludicrous at best. Good grief!

Anonymous said...

Roach, you are a very, very weird man

Kelty could bring some promise for economic development. I'm sure Opus Dei would consider locating their world headquarters in Fort Wayne.

Henry....the man's wife runs the Green Frog!

Fort Wayne....home of the Frog Leggs! Come over anytime, and enjoy some nice hoppers.
