Recently Mr. Peters submitted letters to state representatives and the Secretary of Commerce. READ HERE And HERE
My question is who is Mr. Peters submitting the request as? County Commissioner, Concern Resident or Mayoral Candidate? Seeing as though he used the Commissioner Letterhead - concerned citizen and mayoral candidate are out of the question - unless - he's doing something very, very wrong.
So this leaves that Nelson Peters was acting as County Commissioner. Now, read the displayed job description on the Allen County Webpage - HERE
"As the legislative branch, they pass ordinances that primarily affect unincorporated (not within a city or town) areas of the county."
Since we do not have a consolidated government, county and city, then what powers does Peters have as Commissioner in a city deal? This deal does not involve county government at all. I guess my question is: As County Commissioner, does Peters have any clout in this deal? Is he the right person to be doing this? And If Peters is acting as a citizen or even worse - Mayoral Candidate - he should not be using the Commissioner's letterhead to further his political career in a different arena.

Is it really that hard to spell out "Fort" instead of "Ft."?
This seems a bit off. Does the representative from the Peters' campaign that has made a stop at CFW in the past care to comment on this?
CFW, sorry this isn't really related to this specific topic, but how about a post in your blog about the local media, specifically the Journal Gazette, and the impact that it has on Fort Wayne's image?
This was the point I was trying to make yesterday about Peters! He is really out of line using his current position as a podium!

Here's a gift to all you Harrison Square Supporters-
The fact that Nelson Peters got permission from his "supporters" to raise this referendum issue means Sam T. and the rest of the gang already have the votes they need. It is a done deal or Nelson would have been told to keep quiet.
Sam T. will delay the Committe vote for a week so Peters' effort looks a little less like what it is- a cynical, futile act of pandering. The Peters' letters are written to pols that have already endorsed Peters. They will sing his praises while saying no. So will Sam, Doc Crawford, etc.
You guys won. Now Peters is trying to do the same.

It seems deep down inside that Peters is actually for Harrison Square...but he can't come out publicly and say that...probably because most Republicans are against it.

That's a very good point, but you can see how we are worried by any delay. Delays kill deals as one visitor to CFW stated. Thanks for commenting and bringing a little clarity (as our heads cool off).
