My Opposition

Does anyone think that there shouldn't be a public hearing tonight? Personally, I think its a waste of time. How times can we hear, "Taxes", "We already have a stadium", "revitalize", "why rush" or "young professionals"?

What we need to do is have a screening process, much like the ones from the first rounds American Idol. Where only the novel/great ideas get through and of course the truly absurd comments - so city council will be able to send them away quickly and the peanut gallery will be able to get a good laugh.

I actually do not see much reason for the Public Hearing either...

My goodness, we agree again...

If nothing else, a hearing might allow some venom to be vented. Catharsis.

Yeah. Not sure what good will come out of the hearing.

SYLVESTER!

You submitted 58 questions to the Mayor?

The Mayor also has a full-time job

I agree, they should just vote this ting down and be done with it.

The public hearing, while it might not change the ultimate vote, could be the best thing to happen in terms of support for Harrison Square. The assumption is that the majority of Harrison Square is opposed to the project. The hearing should refute that notion. Many people are FOR the project!

Yep. I take back what I said. Sounds like the hearing went very very well and is an encouraging sign of what may be on the horizon for downtown Fort Wayne.

I did not think the Mayor would answer the questions; however, I did think his staff would be able to answer them fairly easily with all of the time and money they have spent planning the project...
