I've just got a couple of questions - Why not tell us who paid for it? What is the big secret? Is Kelty embarrassed of who is supporting him? Why was this so called 'public question' release to a political candidate?
Its also written: "Let’s be clear: No campaign donations were used to pay for the Zogby poll." Yes, exactly, the donations didn't pay for the poll, the Zogby poll was the donation.
It is also written how Ed Rousseau is correct in saying we should wait until the next administration takes office and why the rush to push this through.
- First of all, this isn't a rush, count how many commissioned reports, boards formed, and the general discussion of downtown redevelopment that has taken place over the last couple of decades. Rushed? The conversation has been going on nearly the span of my lifetime. When will it be time? Also to answer your question, the financing will be gone if we wait until the next administration, we will not have the funding options that we do right now.

There are only 3 possibilities for the poll and 2 of them are newsworthy:
1. The Kelty Supporters are, for whatever reason, embarrassed that they are Kelty supporters [not newsworthy]
2. The Kelty campaign is embarrassed by somebody who paid for this poll, for whatever reason, and wants to keep it to himself until after election [potentially newsworthy]
3. The poll contributor, is some sort of organization (like a 501(c)(3)) thay may have restrictions on their political involvement [newsworthy]
What could possibly be the other reasons? Notice how Kelty now says that he knows some of the people, but last week he pretended like it fell from a stork out of the sky on to his front porch.
I'm not sure if you have seen this but Dan Turkett (aka AngryWhiteBoy) posted an email that I sent to his company TEK Interactive in March inquiring about broadband access downtown. This is totally unethical as a business practice and I'm considering filing a complaing with the Better Business Bureau. Why can we as a company not be excited about downtown development and wish to locate downtown to be part of it ? Does there have to be a conspiracy, Dan ? I can assure you that I will never use TEK Interactive as a company now if this is how they treat my emails. This is down right disguisting.

I find it amazing that he would try find guilt in you running a successful business, expanding, and investing in a downtown that you believe in.

To Mr. Corcoran,
I personally do not see what harm posting your email has done unless you are truely speculating on an investment in downtown real estate and have something to hide. It seems to be a simple inquiry for services.
Also, by the look of the email it looks as if it was sent to someone else that may have forwarded it.
Personally, I do not see the big deal with this. You seem to be a very angry person hell bent on getting your way.

Oh I should tell you this to be fair. I have done business with TEK for almost 9 years and they are a fine company and provide the utmost in professional services.

You can't see the harm? David asked a professional question about a location downtown. AWB has twisted this into implying that David is trying to acquiring property downtown for profit.
This is absolutely absurd to post his email online and try to twist this around to present David and his company as prospecting on real estate downtown.
If there wasn't any ill will meant in posting the email, then why post David's email address and leave out the recipient?

What should be said about David is that he and his company shows Fort Wayne that we have the opportunity to bring young entrepreneurs to the area. Also, David is doing what that all the critics of downtown redevelopment have been telling young professionals to do, "Put your money where your mouth is."
Congratulations David on your expansion. I know downtown backwards if you need any help.

This is not true. We are college students, not professional photographers. We have no need to use a professional photographer.

The woman in question was snapping picture of us as well.
However, my comment to Dan concerning this has yet to see the light of day on the angrywhiteboy site.
I do think it's interesting that you guys (Brian & Scott) are expected to post EVERYTHING about Harrison Square - pro and con - which you do very nicely, but the anti-HSq bloggers only post their own spin on things. (Comments are a different thing - I am referring to original posts that begin conversation threads.)

The "else" that AWB is leaving off is that I said I was reporting TEK to the BBB. He is definitely a spin doctor. I'm done sparring with this guy - it really is not worth it.
