Anyone get a chance to read FWO interview with Kelty ? Wow - I was blown away by it. What fantasy land is this guy living in ? In particular, Kelty's idea for Columbia Street is unbelievable. Kelty states, "..you take Columbia Street and build a superstructure attached to the facades on both sides of Columbia Street and put the whole thing under a glass enclosure..." I wonder if he took into consideration of how this would effect the Landing's historic status. And Kelty also refers to the Mayor's position as "Rocket One" ? I find this comparison reminiscent of the 80's flick "Top Gun". If Kelty gets the nomination, we are all in trouble.

No matter if I agree or disagree on a certain post, it's always enjoyable and I know you guys have your heart in the right place (even if I think your mind is somewhere else).

Thanks for the entertaining blog. keep it comin', guys.

Andy -

I agree, the guy doesn't want to invest public dollars in HS, but he has an idea to enclose streets of downtown. Who are we going to get to invest private dollars on a glass enclosure? We couldn't even get Lincoln to pay for 100% of the covering of the plaza at Headwaters.

Some may say that my head is up my ass, but I'd say my head it turned towards the future.

I’m still flabbergasted after reading Kelty’s interview from FWO. Unfortunately, this is no laughable matter. This man, quite possibly, could be the next face of FW. This absolutely terrifies me. All the forward momentum this city has made the last few years is now on the line. This city has a choice of going either going forward or backward. I fear with Kelty as mayor, we would fall backwards.

Among the many statements Kelty made in the interview, I also found this one deeply concerning, “ I have a business partner downstairs who's very frustrated with me because I'm not spending the time I need to to market our firm so we continue getting work.”

If Kelty can’t keep up with the responsibility that comes with having his own business, how can we expect him to bear the massive responsibility that comes with governing our city ?
